I love meat pies. I think they are easy to make, comforting when eaten and the smell is absolutely divine.
This is my “to go” recipe when I feel the need for comfort food, because I find it tasty and easy and I do not need a long list of ingredients and fuss.
Enjoy it with a smile! 🙂

How to
- YIELD: 4-6
- 1 kg minced meat (chicken, turkey or combination)
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 3 eggs
- salt and pepper
- 2 store-bought pie pastry sheets
- egg wash
Directions:
-
Brush a 25 cm pie pan with vegetable oil (you can use individual pans if you have – this may change the number of pies you produce depending on their sizes).
-
For each pan used, cut 2 sheets of the pie pastry sheets: one bigger (to cover the bottom and sides of the pan) and one smaller (for the top).
Place the bigger sheet of pastry in the pan.
-
Mix well the rest of the ingredients, except the egg wash.
-
Place the meat mixture in the pan.
Cover with the smaller pastry sheet and make a small cut in the center of it with a sharp knife, so the steam created during cooking can get out.
-
Place it in the oven at 200°C, for about 30 minutes.
At the end of the 30 minutes, take them out, brush them with the egg wash and put them back in the oven for another 10 minutes.
-
Decorate them with some chopped parsley.
